Muni Long has stormed urban radio for the second time this year, as “Another” places at No. 9 this week. The snarling kiss-off has cumulated close to nine million audience impressions from 105 monitored stations.
Since its April release, “Another” has amassed over 2.7 million plays on Spotify, becoming Long’s fourth most popular song on the streaming platform.
Her best, “Hrs and Hrs,” which had a reign at No. 1 on urban radio earlier this spring, is near 90 million streams on the digital music service. The viral single, taken from her Public Displays of Affection project, became certified platinum with sales of more than one million in April.
Circling back to Long’s “Another,” the focus track marked the first release under her new Def Jam Recordings deal. She responded with “Pain,” which arrived with a music video.
Long is expected to drop a new summer bop titled “Baby Boo” featuring rising rapper Saweetie. It does not have an official release date, but it is available for pre-save on various music platforms.
Brought up before, Long inked a partnership with Def Jam Recordings through her imprint Supergiant Records.
“It has been a lifelong goal of mine to be able to bring my gifts to the world. This alignment with Tunji and Def Jam for a global takeover is a literal dream come true,” said Long in a statement.
Long is currently working on her first project on Supergiant Records/Def Jam.
