Martina Skat Releases Video For New Single, ‘Your Love Is Fire’

Madrid’s Martina Skat has released the music video for her latest single, ‘Your Love Is Fire’. The track is the first from her brand new EP, ‘Miss Funk’, and serves as an exemplary introduction to both her incredible voice, and her talent for musical composition.

The video was released on May 31, and features Martina singing in a smoky atmosphere, surrounded by dancers and – at one point – even a fire-breather! The funky track will have you bopping wherever you are, as Martina, wearing what appears to be a ringmaster’s hat on her head, totally lets rip with her vocals. At the 4 minute mark the hat is confirmed for what it is, as she transforms from the grey suit she’s wearing into a full on ringmaster’s outfit, red complete with glittering pockets. The clip features a performance by special guest, Fakir Testa, a world-famous firebreather.

Martina Skat’s sound takes inspiration from a wide range of genres, including jazz, soul, and disco, but her opinion is that her voice is most suited to funk – and we have to agree. While looking to record her EP, Martina Skat surrounded herself with the very best musicians, building up a great team. She also focused on establishing her presence on social media, particularly Instagram, which she regularly updates with information about her songs, studio work, and gig notices.

‘Miss Funk’ is truly an international production. It was written in London, Martina Skat taking her inspiration from a passionate romance. From there it was developed between Madrid and Santo Domingo, with Martina’s collaborator and producer, the multi-instrumentalist, Ezel Feliz, as well as the very cream of other musicians. From there it was mixed and mastered between Santo Domingo and Ibizia.

For those who would like to experience Martina Skat’s incredible voice in real life, she has a residency at the BarCo concert hall in Madrid, performing every Thursday with her improvisation band, in their “Fresco Funk Jam” session. Additionally, she has announced her concert schedule, the dates of which can be found on Martina’s social media pages.
