Daniel Radcliffe promises depravity, redemption and strangeness as “Weird Al” Yankovic
Daniel Radcliffe’s energy is unmatched (and a little unhinged) in the latest trailer for the over-the-top biopic WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story. Between cop-infiltrated polka parties, a makeout session with Madonna (Evan Rachel Wood) and a lot of booze, the film looks like it’ll be a wild romp through his ascent to stardom, collapse and eventual redemption. WEIRD arrives Nov. 4 on the Roku Channel. Watch the trailer below. —Neville Hardman
Taylor Swift announces new album Midnights with indie sleaze-inspired cover
Thirteen years after Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift’s VMAs moment, the pop icon took home Video of the Year at the awards show and casually announced she was dropping her 10th studio album Midnights. Described as “the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life,” the album is due Oct. 21. But the coolest part might be the indie sleaze-inspired album art, which features a blue eyeshadow-clad Swift flicking a lighter and staring intently at the flame. Anyway, our alarms are set. —Ilana Kaplan
Yung Lean’s back with a new double single “Lazy Summer Day/Chinese Restaurant”
Yung Lean is ringing in the final month of summer with his new double single “Lazy Summer Day/Chinese Restaurant.” Both Rami Dawod-produced (Frank Ocean) tracks are rich with Lean’s sedative delivery but taunting in their brevity. Guess you’ll need to smash the replay button. Additionally, his Starz/Stardust tour begins this fall, and you can grab tickets here. —Neville Hardman
